ebay eggs...looking for ameraucana knowledgable input please.

Hi, there are some egg auctions on ebay and I am considering bidding on REAL Ameraucanas. Would those of you who KNOW what the breed standard are, tell me if these are legit and good quality birds? Like show quality? Or are they bq?

lavendar and black LF-these were my favorites, though I like the whites too.

They look like standard colors to me.(not mixed up easter eggers) As for being show quality... now that is another thing. It takes a lot of work to get there. Have you visited the ameraucana breeders club site? There is a list of breeders on the site. If you want to show quality it is best to start with the very best that you can find.

Don't consider myself an Ameraucana "know-it-all", but, I'll answer. Hard to judge quality on a photo like that, but they are Ameraucanas.

You know what, I just checked the breeders directory and this breeder is on that list. They are members of the ameraucana breeders club so are aware of show standards. I say... buy them!

Oh thank you guys so much can you tell me which breeder it was that you saw on the list and which birds. On a personal note which colors are your favorite?

Well, but I'm personally partial to the blue/black/splash myself, but I am partial to those in other breeds as well, including Orps and Rocks.

I've become quite enamoured of the blue wheaten color, especially in the roosters. Have had a couple of those, but never got the pullets to go with them, unfortunately.

You do understand that to call someone a "know it all" is an insult? Insulting the people that you are asking to do you a favor isn't the best way to go about it.

Just because the ad says they are a specific type of bird, it doesnt necessarily mean thats what you'll get. There are threads and threads of people who have bought eggs off of ebay, and didnt get anything like what they thought they were going to get.

I am sorry that you took it that way. It really was supposed to be funny.....i appreciate so much all the people who really do seem to know so stinking much that to me they are know it alls.
