Miss Ebony her Highness' feathers have not been the prettiest lately, so she got a bath. Ebony (I call her Ebby) is a bit hard to bathe because she has so many pretty, black, fluffy feathers. Once she's soaked that doesn't seem to matter though because she is half her size and looks pitiful.
Ebony came when I called her so she obviously didn't know she was getting a bath.
Here she is pre-bath.
I couldn't take pictures during the bath, but here she is after, in her wet misury. She actually loves the feel of the water, and is asleep because it feels so good. I had to hold her up or she would've fallen over.
Look at her tail!
Ebby went out on the nice warm patio in the nice warm sun to dry off. She's sound asleep.
Blaze, the crele OEGB comes to investigate the alien chicken. He has no idea that it's actually Queen Ebony. He sunbathes next to the stranger, but not too close.
Checkers the barred OEGB also comes to investigate, but does not welcome the alien. He doesn't know either that it is actually Ebony. As soon as she makes her warning sound to him he realizes it is her and runs into the bushes, fearing the Wrath of Ebony.
Both boys come back to 'apologize'.
Stage 1 of drying- Ebby's head feathers are starting to fluff.
Stage 2- Head feathers are fluffing and so are neck feathers.
Pumpkin spies the now drying alien, but doesn't get too close. Pumpkin has no idea it's her sister Ebony. Look at Ebby's tail!
And the preening begins!
Stage 3- Hurrah! Ebony's head is back to normal poofiness! Neck feathers are almost dry, and so are back feathers.
Ebony is recognizeable enough now, and so she decides to join the flock. Her tail keeps making me laugh!
Sorry Ebby, but that doesn't look like a tail!
Stage 4- Ebony is almost dry!
Ooohhhhh, so fluffy!!
Queen Ebony is now done drying! She stands tall in all her beauty and shows off for all to see.
The newly cleaned and beautiful Ebby enjoys a homemade treat with her sister Pumpkin.
