Hi all.
I have a pair of purebred solomon island eclectus. My male is named Fred and is about 13 years old. My female is Gipsy Danger and is about 4 years old. I introduced them to each other in the fall and they produced their first eggs in November. They appear to be exhibiting normal behaviour in that Fred brings food to Gipsy and feeds her at the nest hole. They preen each other and seem to be a well-bonded pair. Unfortunately, I have not been able to witness them actually mating and I believe that this is the reason for three successive sets of clear eggs.
What can I do to help stimulate them to actually mate? I have them under full-spectrum lighting and they do have sturdy perches on which to mate. What else might help?
Thanks!
