Eclipse preparation for chickens

I'm thinking that if your animals act weird during eclipse they may be reacting to your anxiety. I know if I am calm, cool, and collected, my animals usually are too.
X2, any reactions you see are likely to be from all of the "help " you think you are giving therm

I agree! I find it really hard to catch a critter by chasing them. I can normally get ahold of them fairly easy by just slow walking and talking to them ( abit of feed in a bucket will help) Just MHO!

My chicken preparation for the eclipse would be to get my good digital camera set up to record them. Sadly, I won't be in the area to have a total eclipse, but planning to watch and record the flock anyway. All they will know is that it gets darker, probably think it's roost time.

It won't be a full eclipse where I live either, although I'd love to see it. Should I do anything to prepare?

I read animals can go into a drunk like state during an eclipse, so I'm locking them in the coop and hypnotizing them, as well as giving my dog one of her prescription sleep pills and removing all sharp things from my guinea pig's cage.
How did the hypnotizing go?

So nothing happened here of any note. Got some decent pics of them doing regular chicken things. The quality of the light was interesting though. Gave me a feel for what it would be like on another planet, standing under a different star.

I had to re-read this one. I felt like I was in a drunk like state after the first time.
