She always was the prettiest one in the eyes of her heard, and yet, it was still not enough. Adults adored her, foals looked up to her, and her own siblings wanted to grow up to be just like big sis. Somehow, she always strove for more. She dreamed to be the lead mare, not just for the power of authority, but to feel important. She always obsessed over her looks, and she would do anything for the herd just to impress her peers. Little did she realize just how much of a goody two-shoes she was being about it. Eventually, even the good attention waned, for the herd saw her as an arrogant attention hog and despised it – however wrong they were. Humbled, she lay low for a long while, trying to reestablish herself in the herd modestly, and making less of an effort to get noticed. She made more of an effort to become friends with the other horses instead, and was eventually accepted amongst the herd again. Life seemed to have some sense of normality again.

Just after she had matured from filly to adulthood, disaster struck her life before she was prepared. Upon being asked to help find water for the herd during one hot Summer, she strayed too far and became lost in the dark labyrinth of foliage. She stumbled over a thick tree root and tumbled forward, legs sprawled out in front of her. When she opened her eyes, she noticed she’d found herself in the territory of another herd, which drew around her and clenched their teeth in angry snarls. One by one, they quickly charged after her, whinnying loudly. She had to think of something, anything to get her out of this situation. She squeezed her eyes shut to focus, and her entire body began to tremble, much to their amusement; the little thing must be so scared, they thought. Enormous, colorful wings burst from her withers with such force that it threw the stallions back. At first, she actually laughed hysterically - this was all so ridiculous, and what a story it would be for her herd! Though astounded, she had no time to contemplate just how on earth she did that. Instinctively, she sprang off of her back hooves and flapped those ridiculously huge wings with all of the strength she could muster, climbing slowly into the sky. The branches cut at her legs and ripped at her beautiful new feathers, but soon after she was out of their grasp and into the sky, free again, and soaring gracefully among birds.

Minutes went by as she made her way over the forest and toward her herd, and started to make her descent. About ten minutes after her miraculous escape, suddenly, the wings vanished without warning! She found herself plummeting towards the earth at a dangerous speed, her head meeting the earth with a dull ‘Thump!’ as she somersaulted into the golden sea of swaying grasses. Coming to her senses, she shook away the stars from her vision to quickly glance at her withers. But where were her wings? There was nothing but a strange, wing-shaped marking left in their place. They were just there, she thought, outraged that they would disappear so quickly. Surely she wasn't imagining things! She snorted, irritated, and started back toward the herd. Noticing her ruffled appearance, a few of the others rushed towards her. "What happened?!" "Are you hurt?!" The questions came faster than she could answer as some concerned horses swarmed around her. The rest of the herd, very well remembering what seemed to be her insatiable appetite for attention, thought she was up to old tricks. She explained how being attacked by stallions that far outnumbered her was the most frightening thing she had ever experienced, then how she had extraordinarily sprouted wings out of her shoulders, which had taken much precedence over the traumatizing event in her mind, somewhat fogging it up. The foals, young and ignorant, believed her right away and fawned over her. The adults spoke quietly amongst themselves, shooting her spiteful glares now and then. Her eyes became bleary and her gaze fell to her feet. Of course they didn't believe her. How could she have been so foolish?

---

The nightmare that was her life played through her mind time and again. She remembered it so vividly. "You have to leave, Callisto." they told her. "You are a bad influence to our foals, spreading your lies." She cursed the world, so cruel for treating her like this; punishing her for her dreams. All she wanted was to lead that herd. To be important in her own eyes, and to matter in the eyes of others. And instead here she lay, alone and banished from her herd. The beautiful young mare laid down beside a creek and lowered her head, blinking away tears. Her eyes grew wide when she opened them again and noticed those same wings looming over her in the water's reflection, but instead of rejoicing this time, she thrusted a rock into the reflection, her throat choking on anger and sorrow.

Username: BirdNut
Name of Unicorn: Callisto
Gender: Female
Personality: Shy and timid at first, but warm and friendly when familiar with you. She enjoys company but does not seek it because her history has made her fear other horses.
Appearance: Pristine white with cerulean and rosy pink streaks in her luxuriously long and wavy mane and tail. There is a faint gray wing-shaped marking etched just below her withers, from which alabaster wings with cerulean and pink-patterned flight feathers grow. Her long, twisted, spear-like horn is gold.
Age*: 12
Rank: Mare
Gift: The rare ability to sprout enormous wings from wing markings just below her withers. She has only recently started learning to control them to her advantage, and they still often appear involuntarily when she is experiencing any extreme negative emotions such as sorrow, fear, or rage.
Herd: Eclipseherd
History: Long story short, she was banished from an old Unicorn herd for being interpreted as a liar and an obsessive attention hog.
Other: By her nature, Callisto still desires more for her life than being merely just another mare, but no longer strives for it in fear of being hated again for trying.

Woah dude who are you? I don't remember a 'Broken', so you must have changed your username. Are you Duckluv, Blue, Chookies, Whiteflare, or...?

Username: Gerbil

Name of Unicorn: isidor

Gender: stallion

Personality: Isidor is an easy going stallion, his demeanor serene and collected. He has an innocence about him, just pure curiosity and general wonder. Like every other being, he does have a temper, although it is mild and rarely shows. He is intelligent, having not much else to do as a young colt than listen to his elders, and learn. He is also blind in both eyes, and has been from birth, but as he has never had the ability to see he rarely misses it. Early in his life his eyes held him back; however, in his middle years that changed. His power came late, but it came as a gift no one else could give him. A way to see, it is not quite explainable, at least he has to up with a term for it.
"Like bat, or cat's whiskers. I can see, feel, hear, what's around me." He has yet to explore it fully, but is fulfilled with it.

Appearance: His coat is a pale periwinkle, almost purple. It shines silvery blue in the sun, and white in moonlight.
His mane and tail are gold, straight and long; horn silver, entwined by smaller, black ones.
The only markings he has are two golden rings, one around his right eye and the other above and overlapping. The are delicate, and almost
ethereal in their design, each barely a finger wide, yet filled dozens unidentifiable symbols, or perhaps just odd patterns.
His eyes are a soft gray and pupiless, although they are gentle rather than eerie.

Age*:8

Rank: Infanta

Gift: The ability to sense what's around without sight, somewhat like sonar.
He can channel it and focus, although he still has yet to master it. You can feel if you stand next to him for a while,
Like a change in the air, a vague feeling of movement, vibration.

Herd: Urbem Aurum

History (optional)

Other:

DONE. Almost.
