Can,freeze and raise most all of our food.
Goats in this weekend for milk, butter and yogurt.
Make own bread, rolls and coffeecake.
Recycle and repurpose everything I can.
Trying to make all I can but can't seem to figure out how to make the TP or PT. Any ideas?
Going to try our own rootbeer.
Bee hives in next spring--less sugar-use more honey in baking and cooking.
Check out the web site--TipNut.com lots of good ideas and patterns for sewing and crafts.
Use cloth napkins or cleaning cloths for clean-up and eating.
Now, if you want to get down to the nitty gritty, you can use cloths for tp.
I used cloth diapers when my daughter was little....same difference

WOW, how do you make ur own dishwasher and laundry detergent? I would love to learn that.
Homemade laundry soap
You'll need a huge pot (i use a stock pot but a regular pot will do) and a 5 gallon bucket.
Fels-naptha (this is a laundry bar soap and I found it at Ace Hardware) 1.19 a bar
20 mule team borax (found at Wal-mart inthe laundry aisle) 3.98
Arm and hammer Super Washing Soda (wal mart inthe laundry aisle)3.98
Grate the fels naptha and put in pot along with 12 cups of water. Cook until the soap is dissolved and the water is boiling add 1 1/2 cups(each) of the borax and washing soda stir until dissolved. Put 8 cups of hot water into the 5 gallon bucket then add mixture from pot and stir. Then add 2 gallons and 12 cups of water and stir. Let mixture sit over night then stir until smooth. We use a paint mixture attached to DH s drill.
YOu should wear a mask when grateing the Fels Naptha ( strong stuff!)
Dishwasher detergent is equal parts 20 mule team borax and washing soda use a table spoon and white vinager where jet dry would go.
I have only bought the powder ingredients once and have made 5 batches of laundry soap. The Fels naptha I have to buy a bar each time I make a batch. I give alot of it away and supply my parents with soap also.

TP, nope we buy that. Papertowels we got rid of, and switched to all cloth towels, it's not that much more laundry to do, and it's cheaper and greener.
Time to put our homes in order... I see some serious financial problems down the pike.
From everything I'm reading, all the signs point to the fact that there WILL be a run on the dollar and it will end up virtually worthless.
So starting now...,
Buy a couple extra cans of soup or veggies at the grocer and STORE them in your home, each and every time you go shopping.
Buy and store bulk flour, rice, beans... etc...
Buy some extra chicken feed if you think you can store it without it spoiling.
Commodities will keep you alive and will give you something to trade in the economic collapse that looms on the horizon.
Do you have a generator with some stored fuel to keep refrigerators running if the power goes out?
Do you have water stored?
The sky hasn't fallen yet, BUT we can still do something now before it happens.

You could always use the Yellow Pages, seeing as how, you have no money to spend at any of those businesses.
