awwwww

hugs!!!!

Just make sure your holding steady temps even in the middle of the night, you know that a still air (no fan) needs higher temp than fan model
you know humidity is NOT a set number, its a tool to get the correct weight loss in the eggs.
You calibrated!!!!! YAYAYYAYA your a step ahead of my first incubation! lol
You put heat sinks in the bator to hold temps steadier?
you know shipped eggs need treated differently
You know the more you can turn the eggs the better!
Try not to let temps go under 99.5 or over 102.
Have a back up plan if you loose electric!
You have the notes section bookmarked correct?

LETS DO THIS!!!!!!

Ok, no i haven't yet calibrated the external combo unit, can I? It is an all in one, so would i just do each calibration seperately, Hygrometer and Thermometer?

What are heat sinks. Honestly, it has been tedious to try navagating those note pages with my cell phone. I am at work now, maybe I can print them out!

Thankfully I am not doing shipped eggs yet, I am still trying to figure out how to ship my eggs out. Luckily @MotorcycleChick forwareded me your article "How to ship eggs the Sally Sunshine Way" so I am in the process of gathering the rest of the supplies I need to ship her some more eggs as the first ones ended up scrambled!~

The 4250 Farm Innovators incubator came with a fan, automatic egg turner and a candler! Its actually pretty neat with having such a big window to see your eggs, and it doesn't have the heating element around the entire hood either, I think it is with the fan some how.

I think calibrating is the one thing that is really helping my procrastination, perhaps I bought the wrong unit:

CocoGo Digital Thermometer Hygrometer Probe For Egg Hatching Chick Incubator
This LCD digital Thermometer & hygrometer has a 1.5m long probe, which can test temperature and humidity of some special places, it was widely used in Aquarium, Poultry, Reptile, Incubator, Greenhouse and etc.
Set probe to display the hygro-temperature at the location of the probe.
Measuring Humidity Range: 10%RH ~ 99%RH
Humidity Accuracy: +5/-5%; Humidity Display Resolution:1%RH
Note:Only read ℃, can't read F. Please ALWAYS calibrate a thermometer before use it.

Even though it says to calibrate the thermometer, it didn't come with instructions on how to do it! But I am glad I got the one in C vs F, cause from what I understand, C is more accurate for incubation.

NO FAN = NEED HIGHER TEMP!
STEADY TEMPS after CALIBRATION = A MUST! (try heat sinks!)
HUMIDITY IS NOT A SET NUMBER! Its a TOOL to get the correct weight loss in the eggs! READ below! CALIBRATE Hygrometers too!
SHIPPED EGGS = CHANGE OF PLANS!
TURNING = ITS IMPORTANT! (3x is MINIMUM!)
HAVE A BACK UP PLAN IN CASE YOU LOOSE ELECTRIC

NEVER USE VENT holes as a means to Control HUMIDITY especially during HATCH DAYS!

You realize humidity is NOT a set number just a tool to get the correct weight loss in the egg?

You understand the majority of people for standard hatching eggs run the first 7 days 25-30% humidity (possibly 35%for shipped eggs) and adjusted from there for weight loss?

You understand that you can in fact candle every two days after day 7 to just keep a closer eye on weight loss so you dont need to make major changes later on?

Try to add water above in containers and not in the troughs until lockdown?

I do, but if you could explain it I would love to read about it yes??????

.I'm certainly not the one to be giving an explanation. I've seen it done, but I'm certainly not expert at it. Those who are really good at it can pretty much tell how many buns are in the oven; I'm not even close to being in that league. All I've ever done is lightly compress the lower belly on both sides simultaneously, feeling for solid masses, and even then, I've only done it maybe 3 times in my life. I can't even be sure that what little I've done was done correctly.
