HiDax! Only one litter so far, wasnt sure on the other girl, but I finally felt movement the other night, so fingers crossed all goes well with her.
I was going to ask you earlier if you know how to palpate; I see you do.

I do, but if you could explain it I would love to read about it yes??????

.I'm certainly not the one to be giving an explanation. I've seen it done, but I'm certainly not expert at it. Those who are really good at it can pretty much tell how many buns are in the oven; I'm not even close to being in that league. All I've ever done is lightly compress the belly on both sides simultaneously, feeling for solid masses, and even then, I've only done it maybe 3 times in my life. I can't even be sure that what little I've done was done correctly.
I see, yes I felt and felt no rhyme or reason and felt puppy kicks and a head when it moved, I dont feel good pushing that hard on her. she is a very fit dog and her belly muscles are tight and big, she holds them up well, not like the other lazy moms and they hang low lol

@Sally Sunshine
Ok, yes that is the external I purchased. I am going through all the info I can and cut n paste what I think I need to refer back to.

The incubator came with the egg turner, fan and heating element.

I would be using my own flocks eggs. I am not going to wash them, I copied that info also. I see the part about making sure that the eggs are collected before they get too cold.

Boy am I making a Mountain out of the mole hill or what.... aye aye aye!

I have not done the initial cleaning of the bator yet either. Can I use ACV? or is that not adequate. I don't use bleach in my house

but I have copied that post too for printing!

This is the bator I bought:

Im having anxiety a bout firing up the new bator, I have never done it before and don't want to screw it up! Why am I feeling this way. Is it the calibrations I am worried about? Is it the fact that the test run is going to drive me nuts, is it that I feel obligated to mother hen them and want to hover over the bator the entire time?

Tell me about your first incubation, how did it go? What would you have done differently? Were you nervous about getting started?

Thanks in advance for all your help in easing my mind! I just need to DO IT! LOL

:hugs You'll get more confident as time goes on- trust me, I had a baaaad case of the worries for my first few hatches, and I still get panicky at lockdown.

I won't tell you bout my first incubation; kinda depressing.... Just keep doing what Sally says and all will be well!!

ETA: Just ask some of the people that have been around for a bit. They can tell you how crazy I was for my 1st few hatches.

I thought I'd never get any better, but I can now occasionally pry myself away from the bator for 5 minutes if there are pips. :yesss:

OMG glad someone is more crazy than me!
