30 family members for breakfast today!
:drool I am unsure what some of it is, but I am game to try it ;) I have not eaten. I went out to feed the critters, and then I let the month old kids out. I am sitting against the round bale petting those who come up and watching the babies play. Of course, at 34° my time is limited.

Well, my new guard llama for the Boer goats came up this morning for the first time. He was hauled here and gelded Tuesday and has been standing far away till this morning.

What became of your other one? I hope you didn't lose him

I use these verses from Isaiah to comfort myself with the loss of my beloved pets, do you think it is reasonable to assume that our pets will be in heaven because of these verses?

Isaiah 11:6-9

And the wolf will dwell with the lamb,
And the leopard will lie down with the young goat,
And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little boy will lead them.
7 Also the cow and the bear will graze,
Their young will lie down together,
And the lion will eat straw like the ox.
8 The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra,
And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.
9 They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord

No, William is with the dairy goats, and Si is at my friend's house where I have one right now, but more when we are breeding and kidding. I simply wanted one for the second group when I seperate the does for breeding and for weaning next year.

Morning all.

We lost our sweet dog, Bunny last night just a little after 11PM. Towards the end she was unconscious. I don't think she suffered too much. I'm convinced that she had a massive heart attack. She was a good, smart girl who loved her dog cookies and would bark at you until she got what she wanted. When she was just a year old I taught her how to ask for treats by sitting in front of the container and giving a little bark. That was all it took. Soon we were holding
'conversations' with one another. My dad was living with me at the time and his dementia made him sleep a lot so she was my company. It didn't take her long to learn that the louder she asked the faster she got what she wanted.

So many memories are flooding me right now. I just told my husband that it just didn't seem right that God gave us such a wonderful companion animal and then gave them such a brief walk upon this earth.

I am one eight Cherokee Indian, the last generation that can claim legal tribal status, although my Great Grand Mother Alice never enrolled. The Native Americans have a legend about the dog. When the Great Spirit made the heavens and earth and all things that lived upon it, he made man last and told him from that day forward man would forever be separated from the animals. To prove that, a deep chasm opened in the ground between man and all the creatures of the earth. At the last moment before the chasm grew to deep and wide, dog jumped over it and set down beside man.

Rest in peace, Bunny.
I'm sorry you lost her overnight, but I know you expected it. Although we know going in that we'll probably lose them eventually, a dog will steal your heart, and they do, indeed, become a part of the family. Try to concentrate on the good times you shared with her, and know that she's in a better place. It won't fill the void, but it will lessen the hurt of losing her.

Wonderful verses. I like to believe that we'll see our furry and feathered friends again in heaven.

I don't know, but I hope at least the truly special ones are. Just like with loved ones, I don't know how those without hope do it. I can't see every animal, but I hope for the ones he really let touch us.

Good to know. I was wondering the same thing.

Morning Dax. I'm inside waiting for the buckets of rain and wind to subside before venturing out. Pretty sure we were at an inch before this part of storm started.
