EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I got all excited until DH pointed put that it's a development/evaluation board for hardware and software engineers to evaluate and/or develop the sensor, it's not meant to be sold as a "retail" product. It's an unprotected circuit board, with exposed low voltage power traces, so one will need to be careful that they don't short it out by doing something like placing it on a metal desk.

DH also told me that my RCOM has the older version of the sensor, which I thought was interesting.

i was thinking something like that but also the humidity being and issue
what if you put it in something?

Or the HW cloth bottom of a 'bator, maybe? Like I said, we'll find out. If it works, great. If not, it won't be the first $36 I've blown; likely won't be the last. I'll be the thread Guinea pig :P

:thumbsup

One could buy a can of conformal coating spray and spray the unit, but they would need to mask the switch, sensor, and battery contacts. One can also buy the special cover they make for the sensor, but it would have to be modified, then glued on.

Guess what's here!! :weee

8 viable eggs, all saddled.

Gonna let set for 6-10 hours, coz they're old...

I thought you weren't hatching till like April???

I think approximately 0% of the peeps here believed I'd make it till Easter.

BUT.... I made it two whole months without hatching!! :ya

See? I'm not addicted at all. I could stop anytime I wanted...

I knew it was only a matter of time.

That's nothing! I've made it years and years
