I imagine that was still pretty wild in the early 1900's, compared to today. Grandpa was born in 1888. He covered his share of that country out that way before he put down roots in central IL.

someone drew a line in the sand and my grandfather stepped across, then he lost the knife fight
the other grandfather owned a bar, ended up on the ground during a fight and had a heel shaped bruise on his face the next day.

Like I said, pretty wild, although it can still be pretty wild, depending on where you are.
 
Bummer but glad they seem healthy. I hatched 4 of my flowers eggs-they may be mixes. she was free range with other roos before and laying as soon as she got here. They look a little like CCL-says it could be the daddy but wont know until they are older. :fl  I want pure flowers
