I have a question
Does (do?) Anyone wash and sterilize his/her incubation eggs before setting them? And if the answer is positive I would glad to know, what is the product they are using, and how they use it. I thank you in advance.
Mr B. Mike and I have both set eggs with egg wipes and have had no issues

Benny, I used the instructions here - the bleach, plus carefully controlled temp by measuring after each egg and microwaving the solution when it cooled under 100F.

Ok I need to ask a stupid incubator question.... I use a hovabator Genesis incubator (3 actually

) and 1 small magicfly incubator. Has anybody seen a huge increase in their electric bill from the use of their incubators. My electric bill has skyrocketed and our heat and dryer is propane. I do run 1 heat lamp and 1 electric oil filled radiator but thats about it. I would think it should be way higher in the summer when the air is running....

WOW really? from the bator?

@teaton is that the heater that has the fan it it or no, I am reading that somepeople have solved the issue by actually adding a pc fan to that heater directly on the bottom of it, not opening it up to mess with it just adding a pc fan to it.

I'm not counting the minutes yet. Just give me time. I have put my mature roosters in with the hens and pulled the young cockerels who were trying to kill one another and driving the hens crazy. I left my mature Buff O roosters with them along with one of my Welsummer/Buff O cockerels. They will be a year in Feb and have completely overthrown the two year old Welsummer roosters who were until this past month, ruling the roost with spurs of iron. Since I want fertile eggs I figured I'd better go with the alphas since I want to hatch out some Buff O eggs as my Brinsea's initiation.

Now I just need to wait for the Buff girls to start laying again and then I will start counting down the days, hours and minutes till the first of March. Til then I have to settle for weeks.
Sounds like you have a plan, and March will get here soon.
