EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

When the well quit here we had to buy a water meter hook up from the city. It was $18,000 plus change. The change was they didn't dig the line or install the Backflow device that they required us to install. Oh and that didn't get me the meter, that bought me the right to have them charge me for the water. I had to refinance the home to get it.
Sounds like it would have been cheaper to dig another well.

We're in a similar place with the camp. They want us to install the backflow, hike our rates, etcetera. Our water company is the worst: two summers ago they were installing new lines and broke the pipes several times a day. I was cooking for 117 people with frequent curs to water and a constant boil advisory.

We already had a well on the property, so DH spent the money to upgrade it instead of meeting the water company's demands. So they called the health dept. and reported us. There was talk of lawyers, but nothing has gone farther that I know of.

The DHH guy said "what if everyone in the city got a well because they were unhappy?" Husband said "first off, I don't live in the city. I'm so far in the country I can't even get high speed internet!" :lau

Then everybody in the city would have good water to drink instead of the junk water companies sell.

I am googling with you, seems your not the only one with that issue. Is this digitally controlled?  what unit did you put it do you have a number or name of it? so I can narrow it down?

Great idea!! yes they are not hatchery stock and they are 2nd gens from here too.  He is getting quite handsome isnt he!  I still love the sapphire roo!!!  update pics on him
I noticed that too! lol go figure after I buy it!! Before I bought it I read nothing but good reviews online lol.

I couldnt really find one specific problem with the model online or a manual so I decided to tinker with it myself. I put the plastic heater coil thing (god I know thats not what its called or a good description lol) closer to the middle of the lid and taped it since someone said that was an issue, then I set it 2 degrees lower since thats what I was off and then took out 1 of the red plugs out left one in for humidity and it has been stable at 100 degrees now for 6 hours now. Im going to run it like that a few days and set the thermometer in diffrent parts of the incubator to check for high or low spots before I ever use it, im shooting for the Valentines HAL

Pretty much what we did. Spent several thousand to make the water clean. Ph filters uvlights etc. they made us test it before all the equipment. I can relate with the slow internet as well.

One good thing when the power is down we now have water whereas with the well we didn't
