EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Multiple choice question here. How do you spell the middle day of the week?

a) Wanseday

b) Wensday

c) Wednesday

d) August

The rattlesnakes used to always hang out in our slab pile left over from the sawmill.
Great for rodent control but I understand not wanting them around the kids.

All those that don't care.

I know you're ready - but are the eggs ready?

What day did you set the eggs?

What is a chicken snake?

Live traps work pretty well for cats.
That's how rescue groups catch them.
That's also how I dispose of them.

That's either progress or testing the multiple choice philosophy.

How many were dead or died since you got them - out of how many birds?

They can. That's what fathers are for. He can take them camping or something.

I read that one too. I loved it.
I can't remember, is that the one called the Davis Cave?
Over the years they've done stories on several earth sheltered homes.

Why worry? If you did everything right up to now and everything stays the same, there isn't anything you can do if they fail.

It worked for us in high school. Example was my Spanish teacher who kept a lead pipe in his desk drawer. If anyone didn't behave, he would pull it out and drop it on his desk. Silence followed.
Everyone already knew how bad it hurt.

I thought it was at the St. Louis Arch - Gateway to the West.

It could have happened in 1875. As recently as the 1880s, Jaguars were occasionally seen as far east as the Mississippi river. Thousands of years ago they roamed much of what is now the US.

Jaguars are the only big cats in the Americas that can be melanistic.
Ouch!
2/4 ducks died. one yellow/one black.
2 lived and are doing okay with our other 2 ducks so far.
the 4 chicks that were sent, lived. I believe they are full-sized cochins, to add to my flock. I love the bantam cochins, but I thought I'd try a couple fullsized ones out to see if I like them as much as the smaller ones.

If the roosters are as nice as biter, maybe I can get some RIR/cochin crosses if I had a male able to actually mate with my RIR. My bantam cochin can't reach and she's not patient enough to squat far enough down. believe it or not. LOL

The chick I was worried about, was really weak, but I got vitamins into it, and got it eating drinking and warmed up in the brooder. It ended up doing better and perking up... I put the 4 baby chicks in with my solo hatching silkie. He seems very confused by them, but he's still not sure he likes me, either. LOL

I should really stop putzin around and do my coops, lord knows it takes me four times longer now...

Banti let us see the goals cause I will never reach mine
