We're putting them at the pond, which is snake central. I'm so scared of finding cottonmouths in the nest box.

Maybe. They've had guineas for 10 years and had lots- beasties just keep taking them. They have a 10yr old male guinea.... Who knew they could have enough brains to survive that long?

Sounds like you should get some guineas for controlling the snake population.

I have some, but they don't go to the pond. It's like 1/4 mile from the farm.

Never had muscovy, the ducks just had a calf hut for shelter, food and water and swimming pools. I'd be worried about the cottonmouths too. Not something I'd want to find in a nest box.
