Gosh sorry about that. I quit free ranging about 2 years ago. About the time a two legged vermin took my rooster. Bad enough I have to worry about the four legged ones.

They are. They both are in a chorus group at school.

Something tried to carry him off... I only found two punctures on his chest.

I didn't see anything and I was outside. Just heard a scuffle and by the time I got to him he was dead.

My daughter and her friend wrote a funeral ceremony for him. It was 30 minutes long. Complete with songs, poems and food at the end.

Your daughter is great! Did the funeral help you? So good of her.

No. But it explained why she kept calling me even when I said I was coming.

Wait... what? A human stole your rooster?!

Yes. When neighbors were roofing their home. Rooster completely disappeared he was a very large Orpington. Too friendly followed me like a dog. Had him out for the day while I was there. When I came back around the barn after about an hour he was completely gone. Few feathers were left. So either a human took it or a very large animal took it with out a fight. I looked for days. Nothing. Usually I'll find parts laying around.
