Ragnar died today, and I don't know what to do with him. There's not a mark on him, not a feather out of place. I think he must've been fighting. Eyes closed, food in his crop... I didn't want him for breeding, but he was still a great roo.

I'm so sorry!

Since the incubator we made isn't currently running I decided to see how many eggs it will hold, it holds more than I thought it would. I thought it would hold about 2 dozen but it'll hold 30 duck eggs with some wiggle room.

Good morning all! After I ran away to eat worms, I worked on building the brooders. I kind of got into a zen-flow thing, and next thing I knew, it was 1:30AM!!!! So, I decided to STOP, and went to bed.

Up now, chicks tended, coffee poured, toast in the toaster, eggs steaming on the stove. Busy day ahead...

BTW, the Eggplant coop (I've started calling it that for clarity) has been NEARLY SILENT since adding Mokey. SO well behaved now.
