Oh, I know. I'll be calling one. I just wanted to be sure I didn't have something smoldering right now. I'll need to call someone on Monday. 

Can you turn the power off to all but the chicks. Chances are it popped a breaker or fuse. The last wind you had may have moved some wires. My fil had his trailer catch on fire due to wind and electricity crossing.

Another staple of that time was drive-in restaurants. Regular restaurant inside, but there was also a large lot outside where you parked, ordered whatever you wanted to eat & drink via speakers, and car hops would deliver it to your car. There was a ritual whereby you had to circle the lot twice before you parked, to check out who all was there, and let everyone know that you were there, as well. You usually backed into the parking spot so you could "people watch" while you ate. That also let you check out all the cool cars; lowered, raked, chopped, street rods...all sorts of modifications that Detroit had overlooked.

We may still have one in old town.

No, there's not really a way to do that... As I'm not even sure which breaker would even go to whatever it is that popped. (There's some seriously bizarre wiring in this old house). I've also got a freezer and two fridges and don't want to leave them without power longer than necessary (i.e., during the repair). But I have a call into my electrician, hope to get some help soon. 

Ok sounds good. I'm banking on the breaker popped. Part of the house should be dead now. May want to make sure it wasn't the freezers.

We have one about 1.5 hrs away. Try to hit it up at least once a summer.

Nice collection of eggs. Make sure you calibrate the new thermo and be patient. No need to rush it like mel said. Production has actually picked up for me and its possible that i will be out of room before the 1st. I planned to set on the 1st though so that is when they will go in.

Seriously, the electrics are really weird, and there's no rhyme nor reason to what goes with what where in any of the boxes. I can't wait until I can majorly renovate and do all the electrics from scratch. It'll be a huge relief. Meanwhile, I'm topping off my portable generator (electric) so that I'm prepared for an outage...

I thought it would be doesn't hurt to double check. When we moved in here the fan in the master didn't work. The light did but for all my searching and double checking I couldn't make it work. A few months later I had to go into the attic turned the light to the closet on after finishing what I needed came back through the master to the deck and had to take a double look. The fan that I couldn't get to run was working. It was switched to the light in the closet as long as the closet light was on it worked. Man I love this place
