I read a few years ago about people having problems with the Spot Check. It was supposedly a battery issue and they recommended people replace them. I suspect they had a bad run.
My Spot Check and Thermoworks agree perfectly and they both are super fast.
I'll probably buy another of each this year.

I've lost the edge but many years ago I could identify the turtles, lizards and frogs of North America at a glance.

I posted a picture of some Ancona pullets on our local chicken meetup group. One of the long time chicken owners asked what breed the black and white spotted roosters were. He couldn't believe they were pullets with the huge combs. Just like most other Mediterranean breeds.
Many Med hens have spurs too.
