I bred some of my Cemani hens with a black Silkie Roo and their offspring would probably change their mind. Those hens are some ill-tempered SOB's and attack if you get too close to them. And then when they go broody, Oh Lord....... Nobody falls for it anymore either. I used to purposely tell the kids to get the eggs out of the coop if I knew one of them crazy girls were in there. LOL It was a great show, may even have a video. Have to look.Oh, I forgot - at the vet, while the vet tech was holding Monkey for the vet to look in his mouth, I was telling them that he had never struck out at me or bit me, but I always assume no promises with cockerels/roosters. They laughed and said, "That's nothing - at least he's not a duck!" I asked why - apparently they are a LOT harder to retrain and handle in a vet's office...![]()

I may go with a baby monitor for kidding
@DwayneNLiz I needed to collect eggs, but the icy snow is still blowing around. Duckling needed something to cover her face. I thought I'd have to keep her nestled against my chest. Then it occurred to me that her neck muscles were strong enough for a light helmet!

She thought it was great to not have the snow hurting her cheeks or getting into her eyes like this morning.
Too bad the snowdrifts were up to her chest. I still had to carry her at times.
