The incubator dropped last night, to 52 degrees, killed every last one of the pipped eggs

OMG NO!!!!

I am so sorry... Are you sure they are dead?

How long were they cold?

@ChickenCanoe What is an inexpensive game camera?
I think Moultrie and Wild Game Innovations are the cheapest. I like my Bushnell. I bought it from B&H.

I also bought some off of Craigslist. I bought 6 from a guy that sold them to me for 25 each if I bought them all. They aren't as advanced as the Bushnell but I couldn't pass it up. The way my place is set up, I need a bunch of cameras.

I thought someone had a colder house than me.
I think dax has a cold house. My upstairs is about 62F most of the time.

Probably at least a couple hours, probably more.

Pretty sure, they're completely shrink wrapped, here's a unpipped egg, completely shrink wrapped.

That is pretty much dead, I hate when I open and egg and see that.

That is what I had in the egg the flashlight smucked. last night. I just checked and I have 7-8 eggs not hatched today. I will boil them up smash then and feed them to the rooster and guineas along with the quitters, non-starters and this weeks frozen cracked eggs.

I know this is putting the horse behind the cart, maybe you should get a cheap heater and keep in the room, it is hard without stable ambient temps to get a good hatch. I got a heater with a thermostat on it for 14 bucks at Walmart I use in my brooder to maintain a minimum temp. One in the room would save them if it happens again.

When I was out of town, the person caring for chickens and dog dropped the ball on the incubator and chicks.
She didn't get the lid back on squarely and it was 94F the last 5 days of incubation and some hatched a couple days late. I was going to clear it out yesterday but I still heard peeping. Couldn't tell which egg it was coming from. I'll float test this morning.

Oh, lovely. Hope you get a few more to hatch :fl
