He was dead this morning :(

But that's okay. So 1 EE egg made it, and 1 Red Sex link X EE roo made it.

Which honestly, is okay. Because unless I butcher my 4 fullsized cochins that aren't tame (I just threw them in with my ducks, and my ducks taught them to be avoidant of people) I really didn't need extra chickens.

I wouldn't mind keeping the girls, but the boy roosters need to go.

Morning All.

@daxigait
Congrats on the kids.
Thanks. Good morning to you too. I am looking forward to the weekend so I can play with kids. Of course I also have to get baby pen finished and assemble their new bucket feeder from caprine supply. Go get milk, go to the feed store, the vet, and to pick up a doe Also, clean the chicken coop....yep it's a weekend. Oh joy, we can't forget housework. :weee. :th
How are your chicks and goats?

You know - I find the work of animals far less than the never ending supply of housework.

Or maybe because it's that I actually *enjoy* the animals... and not the housework?

I got up early to check on my baby chicks, instead of sleeping in, when the kids were going to let me do for once. Oops.
Baby chick didn't make it, but the other 2 did that hatched well.

I was also awake, already thinking of how to fix my turkey pen, the stupid things poop so much compared to chickens, their entire pen is just covered in poop. I need to rake it out and put some fresh straw in there... or something.

Sounds like you've got a busy weekend. Goats and chicks are doing well. I gotta clean coops and move chicks around this weekend also.

The birds have been watered (literally. The boys are sparring. One is a little bloody) and the duck pool filled. A SPR hen keeps escaping the pen, then wanting back in. I had to go inside the pen anyway, so I tossed another hen and I'm hoping Kenny Rogers :fl out to free range.
