EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

IMHO, at this point what the air cells looks like is a moot point. You know need to keep the membrane from heat shrinking and capturing them in it. That requires moisture, high humidity and even then it sometimes captures them.

The shells need to gain some moisture so they are not as hard for their little beaks to bust out of. This is the hardest and trickiest part of hatching. You need to set them up, keep the moisture up and try to keep you fingers off them and just let nature take its time to do it its way.

Not every bird will hatch, When you see one in trouble you need to resist opening the hatcher to help the one in trouble. That act of mercy could kill three others.

The humidity will spike higher than it is now by 5-10 points when the eggs start to pip. The moisture inside the eggs will be drawn out like a sponge is sucking up water. Best of luck, you have to just put it on auto pilot and learn from this hatch..

Good luck.
