EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I guess I need advice again. My Welsummer egg that pipped 28-30 hours ago, in the middle of the shell, has not changed. During the day yesterday it was rocking a bit, but I don't see movement today. It never actually broke through the shell, so it has never peeped. Does this mean it's still ok to leave alone? There's just a small, rounded crack. Thanks for advice...

By now, it should be okay to pick the edges away so it can breathe, as 24 hours is usually the wait time before stepping in. Stop if you see blood, and don't go any further than that. :fl

That is, if you are okay with assisting hatches.

That one has not done anything. I rolled her over to see if she had done anything and she peeped but her peeping sounded distressed to me.

How long has she been pipped, and can you still see veins?

If she's breathing there's no rush to get her out.

I believe chaos' ducks took 40+ hours pip to hatch.

Thank you. I have another chick that has broken a hole and is peeping occasionally. Am I risking his safety by getting the other out?
