Good luck.

Yes, yes it is annoying. Hatching in small numbers messes with the ratio and they don't always show it. Go ahead keep them for eggs, I do. If you can figure out which is throwing them then I don't really see much of a problem breeding back to the crestless parent but only the first gens, I wouldn't recommend breeding back any further
Well, I don't know were I could by new stock and that would be a lot of trouble. I'll see if the magpiexcampbell have crestsand if not maybe I'll mate the magpie hen to the ancona and see what happens. I'll keep some of my ducklings, breed 'em and see who has what. This is going to take a lot of hatching. Poor me

This is 24 hours from pip. Normal? Not doing well? I'm pretty sure the break is still facing the same direction. Humidity is 84

Cuteness overload.

Super cute! My TSC had what I think were ancona magpie (looked it up) ducklings this weekend (do I have that right?). It was seriously hard to resist them...

Quote: Provided there isn't anything structurally wrong with him, I'd keep the EE because he came from the bluest egg (compared to sibling of Am cock), and your goal is egg color. Bonus is that you'll probably get more money for a pure Ameraucana than an EEE (I would presume - may depend on local market).

Quote: Ideal has this disclaimer on a LOT of their breed pages that you may get crested and uncrested for a number of breeds. Here's the regular (uncreated) magpie page:
