EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

good news, If my chick is a roo, my friends (who live in a rooster keeping area) will take him! then I can still see it whenever i want!

That's good news! I agree with Liz that it's too early to say - there are some mild indications, but different boys and girls develop at different rates (some girls fast and you think they will be boys, some boys slow and you think the will be girls). If you ever get to where you keep and breed a given, well, breed, it'll be easier for you to tell with experience.

(What breed are these?)

Awesome! I am holding on to some crazy idea that I will find someone to take one of my cockerels for the summer when I am out of town, and then I could get it back in the Fall. It could happen, right? Right?

Looks good! The main thing is to keep an eye on it and keep checking it - it'll be easy for you compared to when I was trying to manage 71 chicks. The BAD thing that can happen is it can slip above the hock and constrict there. Other than that, you'll see it and see when it gets snug and is ready to change.
LOL, I spend every second of time I can snitch away down there watching them, so no worries on that
