EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

You make me want to go fishing now.

There are lots of guides to hire out there that will teach you fly fishing in short order and provide all the equipment. It isn't prohibitively expensive. You can go for 2 hours, a morning, all day, overnight or week trips.

IMHO, that is the best bet. They'll show you all the best spots, get you started and you don't have to bring any gear.
Unfortunately, they won't be on the pack trip.

Thank you for the advice phage. Unfortunately I lost the gosling overnight. After looking inside to see what happened I realized it was malpositioned and the yolk was not fully absorbed. This was the only one that did not hatch out of all of them. Hopefully I don't have to go through it again

Sounds like it was not destined to hatch, and some are just not.
Hope you enjoy your chicks!

What do you have humidity at? Taking the lid off won't matter at all. Broody hens get off every day to eat and drink, and still get good hatches.

37.2 Celuis and 70% Humitity

I have seen a broody hatch eggs, So I know what you mean

Candling went well, 13 out of 15 I saw somthing Yippie!

Thanks! ^^

Humidity should be at 45% or a bit less until day 18.

Quote: That humidity is way too high, can cause problems. It should be 30-45% or so. Lower may be better since it's been higher, so the air cell can catch up. (What day are you on?)

OK, brooders cleaned (not a minor undertaking), taking a break, then working on lumber. I'll let the chicks settle down before doing the weights.

You've seen the show - he's always using an old metal burgundy or blue junk car.
