EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

@anyonewhowillhelpme
I asked on another thread if I could hatch duck eggs(Call ducks)and chicken eggs togather(Ayam Cemani)They said yes.And I asked if I could still do lock down on day 18, and would that mess up the ducks.They said that sound like a good idea.Thoughts?
Lockdown is simply raising humidity. The ducks will be fine. Ask my Pekins... if you are Banti. Otherwise, trust me. I'm better at typing. :D

Great!

So, (sorry, I have to clarify)I can stop turning all the eggs, both duck and chick ON day 18 for Lockdown, along with raising the humidity?
And, since duck and chicken eggs both need diffrent humidity temps, how high should it be for 1-18, and then how high for 18-21/26?

I followed the "incubate duck eggs the same as chicken eggs only longer" rule.

I stopped turning the duck eggs on day 18, never misting them. Humidity was 35% or so until chick lockdown. Up to seventy percent. When I removed a few chicks, I turned the ducks since the incubator was open. Let the humidity drop back down when the chicks were out, and went back to turning the duck eggs for a few days.

I triggered between 3-6 follicles last night... I'll know in about 2 weeks if any took. This waiting game sucks. I'd rather wait for chicks to hatch. at least it's more exciting and less emotionally taxing.
(as another staggered baby chick hatched this morning.)

Too bad it's not fixing my baby making urges.
:hugs :fl :hugs

I've never been on one. :p

you can incubate together no problem, turning is most important for the first 14 days for chicken and 17-18 days for calls, so you can stop turning whenever you want and just keep an eye on ACs

are they shipped eggs??
