I have one super-glued to the nest, also; not a year old yet......hasn't even been laying full size eggs more than 2-3 months....one of Tucker's daughters. I'm gonna let her keep the eggs. Not even sure how many she's setting, but might have a few extras by the time we get back here the first week of July.

The two I'm not messing with are due in about two weeks.

I have 5 broodies locked in elevated cages in the open air...They are not happy. The one is standing on her feed dish instead of the wire. They hate the wire, they think they are going to fall to the ground..

broodies are so dumb they forget they have wings.

Mine sure figure it out wicked fast when I push them out of the boxes... Though they scream the whole way down.

One of mine will stay upside down whenever I move her to collect eggs. She's inside that granite rock and I flip her upside down to get eggs

Or, I haul them out and dunk them in the duck pool. It seems to work.

Same here. Reason I'm leaving them I'd have to crawl to the back of 4' wide coop to get to them meanwhile rooster whom I don't really trust would have unfair advantage.
I'm sure plenty of eggs won't be hatching

Ooooohhhhh.... I'm totally trying that - it's hot enough here that I could justify it.
