I already band for the color of the egg they leg...and their status. I don't think they're legs are long enough for my ideas...lol.

I just tried the removable bands...so far...I REALLY like them. I can also take em off and change them. I'm finding the zip ties too expensive to be cutting off. $$$

It's a work in progress. Hopefully by next year I'll have the seed shed with all it's compartments and the whole banding thing down.

We're using zip/cable ties too, sowwy for the confusion.

See? Two different coloured bands... Dark blue is 6, light blue is 7, making this one number 67.

No confusion. I just bought the bands at Peavey Mart.(ouch) I got a whack o colored bands too. With UV!

I miss the ears like the sheep. That was easy.

1701: for first lamb born in 2017
Color of the ram for the top color.
Color of the ewe for the underside of the tag for the lamb. At a glance I could see the year and lineage without having to check paperwork and cross reference the letter of the year.

And all the paper/internet records with the registration...all the notes with the birth records.

Smallest flock I've ever had was 13, and that was for about a month before chick season started. My yard felt so empty....
