I squirt the chickens that go after the ducks if I happen to have the hose out. They scream like little girls and run for it... Makes sense that it would help a roo turning bad.

They sound awful. Keep them.

Running away like a little girl is EXACTLY how my cockerels/roosters respond to a squirt of water in the face. It's hysterical, and quite effective.

That's one way of putting it. My ducks are just a few weeks old, hence the bullying they receive.

What breed was he, did he die?

He was a lavender cuckoo Orpington. He was super sweet. I sold him to a lady who needed a rooster, cause we are not supposed to keep roosters where I live. We have one now we are trying to keep for a short time though, just cause I want to hatch some of my own chicks. Don't know how long I can put up with the crowing though! I think as soon as my pullets start laying I'll give him a week or so & then he will be moving!
