So sorry. I hope that's not the case. I've been through a miscarriage before and. I know it is hard. Miracles do happen though so don't lose hope.Had a cyst rupture, and ended up in the ER for bleeding and pain. They threw out the words ectopic and miscarriage so now i'm all freaked out.
Looks to me like a storm sewer drain cover.Oh, and so, the S&G girls haven't been let out of their coop yet because I need to build a secure paddock first, and the area they are in is more shaded but more dicey than the others (closer to that brush pile) and needs more care to set up safely. (That's what I'm doing tomorrow/Thursday.) I went by their coop to ensure they had water (they do), and look what I found on the ground INSIDE their LOCKED coop...I was like, WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU GIRLS DOING IN HERE?!![]()

Not sure, but it looks like in their scratching of the soil under their litter they found an old gas burner lid or something (anyone else know what it is?)
I swear, somebody used my back yard as a dumping ground for household trash in the 1930s-1960s. I also keep picking up pieces of glass and broken pieces of old dishes in the S&G boys' paddock - fortunately they are old (with worn edges) and also my chickens have so far been too smart to try to eat them. This is actually one of the reasons I don't have geese - weird stuff they would probably eat (and then get sick from) shows up after every heavy rain.![]()
It's lightweight aluminum, though - about 12" diameter. It's a yard ornament now.Looks to me like a storm sewer drain cover.
"The hurrieder I go, the behinder I get"........old Amish saying; all old Amish say it.Good luck with the raccoon. I always have signs... I don't trap because I'd end up trying to trap all of the raccoons in the whole city...
Mine do this, too. Mice and frogs. Yum!!! (Also hysterical to watch.)
I'm taking today and tomorrow off to try to make some headway with not only some chicken stuff but also household stuff (so I don't feel so behind all the time). Of course, that means I need to DO stuff, but I think I'll have another cup of coffee first.![]()

I'd be d***d sure the Postmaster General got a full report.Mail people refused to help - so I reschedule dr apt for friday. I do another redraw monday, so while the doctors not "happy" about an extra day between thurs/fri, they'll live because I'll do the 48 hours between fri-mond.
They'll just have to have me refill prescription for progesterone monday. I'll have to pick up a few for over the weekend on friday to tide me over, but honestly, I feel like my draws are going to be fine, and I'm far more worried about killing my geese. There's nothing the doctor can do for me if my labs aren't rising appropriately anyways... but I can prevent my geese from dying.
@Fire Ant Farm I can understanding want a Man in with the hens, Without a rooster they just do not seem to be able to handle life...
Hens and women are so alike in that respect...
I'm sorry it took 4 days for me to see that one, but you know I'd have jumped all over that one. Thanks for having my back!
BTW you opened yourself up for that!!
i hope the fox is smart and leaves town.
How'd that work out for you?Shweet! Two in.... Anyone else? It'll be awful fun, promise.
