EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I assume she goes broody so she does not have to look at the dux.

Any self respecting chicken would do anything to avoid Dux poo.
She goes broody in a low nest box, right about at Dux eye level. They sleep right there, so she spends the entire night and part of the day staring at Dux.

My SH pullet was acting broody, but I think I kicked her out of her little spot in time. Bella will probably be broody again real soon, it's been a whole week since I broke her last.

I have a terrible feeling I will be having more hens bringing out chicks in the net few weeks. I am missing some hens, I assumed a predator got them, but the appletini, that made it impossible to use my weight machine, proves they might just have stolen nests.
With your luck, I bet all 96 birds that went missing a bit ago have nests out in the woods.
