I have SSBS Sticky space bar syndrome I feel yer pain!!

I made a deal with my daughter that if she takes care of all of the indoor pet chores (feeding, watering, litter boxes, cleaning fish tank, cleaning up messes from animals, etc) for 70 days straight, without missing any days, that we will get some goats. We made a big calendar on our dry erase board to track her progress. If she misses a day she has to start over on the count.

So.... what kind of goats should we get? We only want them as pets, but it would be great if they help keep the pond overgrowth under control too. I only want to get 2. Suggestions? @daxigait and @Sally Sunshine and anyone else with goats ? ?
I research though I wanted nubians until I read tons of info and stuck with mikes suggestion nigerian dwarfs! so far great choice!

Hello! I need some SERIOUS help! I had a really bad first hatching experience... I started with 28 of my own eggs (my hens refuse to go broody) and borrowed an incubator from a good friend who I assumed knew what she was talking about. Unfortunately, she didn't, and I lost ALL BUT ONE EGG because they were positioned in the bator incorrectly (pointed side up, chicks didn't developed past day 10, a lot of ruptured air sacks) So I have just this one lonely egg that has somehow defied all odds... it is day 24... no pipping, internal or external and it doesn't seem to have broken through to the air cell yet... while I've done TONS of research (that I should have done BEFORE attempting a hatch) but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to jump in and assist if that's where this is headed... how do I know if that's necessary? How will I know if the yolk sack is absorbed to a point that I CAN intervene????? PLEASE HELP MY LITTLE EGG MAKE IT!!!!
I would not touch that egg unless you candle and see an internal pip! We can help you get set back up for the next batch there are a few things we can run by you to try to fix the issue besides the upsidedown eggs, if its day 24 your temps were too low, and I bet too high humidity. we can go over that when your ready to set again.

how did you know it was bloat ? mornin Kaj!

ohhhhh Can you order me a baby and the outfit please!!!

interesting!!! I need them for me!!

I challenge you to hit 3800!!!
Vet confirmed it, and my neighbor who had goats and dealt with bloat alot, was the one helping me with the baking soda stuff, before the vet told me to skip the mess and buy gas X strips.

It also made the goat better with in a few minutes of giving it. My first goat that died of it, was weaning from the bottle, to grass, right as it rained.... she had never eaten green grass before and it did her in before I could fix it... I knew horses could founder, but it never occurred to me when I first got goats, that they'd do the same thing.

Quote: oh!!! Mornin John! how are you this day?

The 4H chapter is a good idea.

I'm actually planning on buying from someone at our local vet school. Just want to make sure I choose the best breed for us. I am leaning towards Nigerian Dwarfs.
mornin beautiful!!!! how are you and baby girl? yes I know she is bigger than me but my girl is too and I still call her baby girl lol

We are good, I am "almost" over this nasty bronchitis. She is feeling almost back to normal from her tooth extractions on Monday. Last night she ate some chips without much pain. She is definitely my baby girl! I always tell her that too, even though she has a ways to go to be taller than me! How are you feeling?
