I would if the wiring wasn't from 945 BC. It might even be from the century prior.
What?

That's no joke.

I am digging thru Bob's pics and thought of your switch.
These are photos taking in a house he helped restore back in 2007 I think I read. The house was built in the late 20's.
cloth covered wires and ceramic isolators. Crack pipe tubes thru the heart pine studs. industry standard in the 20's/30's... fire hazard maybe?

You are a poet...and you didn't even know it!!! :clap
Wow, those are cool photos! Hmmm...that's the late 20s? From what I understand, this house was the living room area and they moved (I don't even want to imagine how) another house and made one house out of the two. The barn is 100 this year. The house is past a hundred. I look up at the ceiling in the kitchen, (where I'm sitting right now) the ceiling apparently caught on fire from the light wiring. :th Some of this house is newer and some is very old.
is that like yers? wicked
If I wasn't so scared of the dark/basement/dark basement I'd check.
I can see it in the barn in the open too. I'm thinking that pic looks pretty close. I'm pretty sure in the barn it's brown wire...but smaller wire than the pic. The wire in your pic is insulated. I'm pretty sure that it's small wire, almost like the flat type ribbon extension cords. I can get a pic tomorrow. Today was a crazy day. Tomorrow morning will be too..but I'll get it after I get home. :thumbsup

I don't get to play with his machine that often. He use to take his cameras everywhere. SO MANY to dig thru.. of course not organized. Bob was self employed for 25 yrs Flooring journey man mechanic, then his knees got angry. Got into restoring turn of the century buildings for a bit with a General Contractor buddy. Then back probs. Now cooks as a profession. During those remodel days is what I am digging thru, way past my bedtime. Interesting stuff.
I wonder how much asbestos he was introduced to.
Anyway.............................. thought I'd share that little find with my wicked friend.

He's a cook? Well, bring him on down!!! Or up, I guess...lol.

Ugh, remodelling. I've done enough of that to do me two lifetimes. A relative bought an older home and we did the tear down and most of the finished product. I am NOT laying any more linoleum or digging/screeding cement. Don't make me.
Is there anyone who has an organized photo gallery? It's on my to-do list...

Asbestos is for insulating qualities? Was there much of that your way? I know it's been used here.o_O
