Baby update: he's sleeping longer now, though i suspect in a couple days he'll change his schedule on me again. I've successfully gotten him sleeping in the crib after the four days in a bassinet at the hospital. Tomorrow and Monday are both Husband's days off so we'll see how well he does with his first day of being home all day with the baby and I!

I got a call from the brewery 5 minutes ago--- I have to go downtown and pick up 6 to 8 more barrels of grain like in the next 5 minutes.. ttyl

That's great!! Hopefully he's sleeping through the nights in no time flat.

I very much remember the boy started sleeping through the night at about 1-2 months. He was born the end of Oct. and the ewes began lambing in December. He was sleeping through the nights and I still had to get up and check sheep!
Didn't work out as planned.

Never had one roll away or break. I don't count infertiles (true infertiles) because I don't for incubators either.

Roll away? How do they roll away? Maybe your chickens didn't want to be mom's...lol. Mine are the complete opposite of that. They'll bring any other chickens's eggs to their nests. (If setting on the floor)

I nominate Chewbacca. She will rule you. She starts setting on new hens eggs while she's raising her own brood and is successful. She's a crazy beast. A maniac! This is while others are laying in her nest! But she'll have a dedicated lay/setting house this year.
100% hatch with the guinea eggs. First time mom.
She started the nest of other hens eggs while being a mom. (bad chicken)
She laid 12 eggs, one death and I can't remember what the other was. Raised 10 successfully. I didn't want anymore chickens!
I stopped her. I stopped her. I just stopped her again.

She can't set on the number of eggs you can hatch because you can hatch sheer volume. But percentages. Oh yes. I have full faith in her.
