@Fire Ant Farm guess what I did on Monday, after multiple years of procrastination, contemplation, and research? Mean rooster is now yummy dinner. 3.7 lbs dressed weight.

I think I'll be making a turkey gumbo with the leftovers, only made a thigh and leg, of course the thigh and leg weighed almost 8 pounds.

The chickens are going to be getting the turkey scraps from cleaning the carcass today and maybe a pumpkin or two.
I'm going to the farmer's market tomorrow to get some fresh veggies for the soup from the carcass.

Someone on another thread said they were deep frying a 60 pound turkey yesterday.
