The conclusion of the lemon adventure :
23 liters of fresh juice freezing for summer
And we boil the fresh peel to produce a home made floor and al purpose cleaning liquid, boil them with some water, strain add some vinegar and clean! Very good and wonderful smell! 12 liter of that!

Yes indeed, Silver laced Barnevelders my favorite breed.
I always find that we don't know how to deal with winter ......
We had 93mm almost 4 inches of rain in 48 hours and we really don't know what to do with them.....
You always seem to have nice-looking birds.

Is that wood shavings your birds are on?
Have you tried trenches around the perimeter to divert the water before it gets to the run? Of course, that wouldn't be very effective unless the run was covered.
I never had to deal with winter here! This year it is crazy ! No rain for weeks and all the month average in 2 days, when it will clear (not very far away :lau ) I will need to do some adjustment!

Yes, a special rodent pine shavings, I can't find Natural pine shavings from woods store because almost all the wood is treated against insects and fungi.

That's one I'd never heard of. Great use for something that would've otherwise been wasted. :thumbsup :goodpost:

What's your secret to breeding such sharp pencilling on the fronts??
No secret, just good genetics and excellent conditions!
1. Minimum numbers of birds
2. A lot of space
3. 50% fermented feed
4. Fresh salad every day
5.3 time a week extra vitamins
6. Extra fresh water.
The genetics needs the optimal environment to be expressed.
