I lost one of the Polar kids born on Easter I don't know if the cold got him or if he had something wrong with him he only lives for days.

@BantyChooks @duluthralphie Look! There are actually ducks on my pond! If you can see them in this cell phone photo I didn't want to get too close to the pond and scare them away. I've been here for years and all I get is a blue heron that visits regularly and the Canadian geese that pass through during the daytime and go to the big pond for the night.

Wow it’s like ocean dumps on you. My friend up the hill from us usually gets double what we get. I’ll ask him how much they got out of storm. He and his wife got a kick out of the Rushmore joke.

GOOGLE: "Ocala National Forest".We are a rain forest (were until developers ruined Florida) that is fed from systems that build up from the Gulf and the Atlantic sides. This current system is coming from the NW. Our gauge is at almost 5" since yesterday. It is expected to linger throughout today as well.
I'm more worried about

lightning. Our ground needs the water.
Our critters need grass.

Kinda tough to stabilize room temp here. If I close the door the room temp is in the high 50s. If I leave the door open the room temp eventually matches whatever the temp in the rest of the basement is, which depends on how hard the stove's working.

I took a cell phone pic last night around 10 pm in our hatching room just for you. The wall thermometer has a lower reading at night keep that in mind.

When all the brooders go empty from the sales, I have to re calibrate all of the styro ovens.
