EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

He’s keeping busy. Between keeping up with his own life, and trying to keep me sane since Chaos abandoned us, he doesn’t get to make many pens.
Not sure there's enough hours in a day to keep you sane
(You know me better than to leave a barn door like that standing wide open)

Send him down here once the rut gets closer; this area's covered up in deer. I normally get a couple every year just off my place. Mostly does & young stuff, though; bucks don't last long around here.

oh maybe its time to close this and start a simple friends chat thread :)

Nah, where else would anyone go for help? There's enough of us who keep the lights on that help can be found. If whoever's here doesn't have an answer, they know who to tag that does.

What’s symptoms
Never encountered one, but I'm thinking it manifests itself in weird bahavior. You should be able to google Chronic Wasting Disease & find out for sure. Aren't your deer blactails? It hasn't hit them, yet.

I searched "symptoms of chronic wasting disease in deer" and got a comprehensive description of the disease & a list of symptoms

I juswt haqd a disturbing thought: wood ashes, when mixed with water, form LYE, which I wouldn't think would be good for chickens. I had that thought as I was taking ashes out to the run, so I put a large rubber feed pan of them under the coop, in a small plastic dog house, out of the weather.
Interesting never thought of that. Although it’s always dry here and if it is wet I don’t waste the ash in the coop.
