EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Day 14 egg cells on my current eggs. I think I may need to decrease humidity a wee bit--I was still running 35-40%, but perhaps I should drop it down to 30-35%? Or should I go even lower? After I hit post, I'm going to get the other eggs from the post office and we'll see the damage. I hope I have Pensmaster's luck!View attachment 1865645 View attachment 1865646 View attachment 1865647 View attachment 1865648

I said to lower it for a few days you musta missed my response after the others, what do I know though (sarcasm lmao)
anyways, these are ICELANDICS, they are not quite full size eggs for sure, they will hatch day 20 if you are running temps around 99.8 to 100 degrees, you only have 3 and a bit more days to knock air cells down a bit. I would go to 30 percent and check in two days.

are you running at 99.5 and below or 99.5 and above? its NEVER good to run BELOW 99.5, if you are not running a hot bator like I do at at 100 (most times 100.5 & never over 101) anyways if your not running a warmer bator, NEVER get it below 99.5 I would sooner see yall set at 100 than 99.5 for the variances we get.

hello everyone, school shopping for kids today, I need a loan. OMG how on earth can prices be raised so dang much but yet, no ones pay is increasing!!!! Its so dang frustrating, just grocery shopping alone is sky high, its just not making any sense!!!

100.5 works real well for me.

Exactly and we don’t have kids in school anymore.

It makes sense to the seller, in which by the way IS getting a higher pay!
A general liking mineral block, or a block of a Himalayan salt is not enough? (I really don't know nothing in Goats keeping )

Oh, I saw your humidity advice. I just thought that I, an experienced [read: foolish] incubator of one hatch, knew better than you. :smack:oops: I was thinking about my nonsense the whole time I was marking cells this morning. "Oh...I, uh...I guess @Sally Sunshine was, uh, right about the humidity." My great failing is knowing it all and then being embarrassed by my results. Luckily, I am wise-ing up! :old

My bator runs 99.5 to 100.5. Well, my Brinsea does. I've decided to put the shipped eggs in my cheap Janoel backup, and it is really sensitive to ambient temps, so it varies a bit more. I just can't stick those dirty eggs in with my nice ones!

(Oh, and my Etsy page is Https://www.etsy.com/shop/PrayerAndSparkle. I haven't uploaded anything new in ages, but I still manage an occasional sale. Once the kids are back in school I will get it going again!)
