Have a son with a birthday today. I tell him he's our lucky boy. Had him as a healthy newborn after having a son before him born with Spina Bifida. I had just heard of a friend that had had their second child in a row born with Spina Bifida. Happened more back in the 80's as it was the number one birth defect ..all before a study I was part of...found out just how important that folic acid is for that first trimester. Anyway, his birthday falls on this Friday every now and again.

No, I needy buy a bentch grinder for them, I made one DIG using MDF and some buffing powder and my knives became SCARY sharp!

Oh man Sally! Just opened up the Colton smell. Love it!

colton? he he he yes I love fresh smelling stuff too, cotton and amber ? I am using that now as well. Just used up my clover and aloe, kids want cherry almond but its not ready yet.

These I cut and are curing, pics suck as I just snapped a few after cut, Vanilla Birch, Mac Apple, Jasmine Honeysuckle.... MAC apple is amazingly fresh smelling, and the Jas Honey I finally found a vendor whos type I like smelling! not too potent and sweet. love it, sticking with them on this one for sure! That soap pic doesn't show the pretty pale yellow swirls, I love the way that one got. I took other pics of the rest but wont overload the thread with them ha! I have 47 types curing right now, quite a few are special orders though. I have babyshower star soaps, 4H soaps, Sorority soaps, and people that order a whole loaf of the type they love, I try to make an extra loaf when I do those, to share with others too. Pink Sugar I am in love with the smell, but the soap gets fugly with that vanillan in it, dark and brown.

Been fishing sporadically. Not venturing too far; energy level's pretty low. Local pond's hit pretty hard, so it's a tough bite. Heart's not really in it.

I am so frustrated right now. I've lost 4 of my month-old chicks in the last 3 days. One to my dog, one to a mean older hen, and two drowned in the water bucket. I just want to smack myself over the bucket. How could I have missed that risk?! What an awful death--I feel so irresponsible for not thinking to cover it. I am so ashamed of myself for not doing better. And now I've gone from 4 roos and 5 pullets to 3 roos and 2 pullets.

when I started I lost pullets under the feed bowl! never use bowls lol Sorry to hear about this, but we all learn for sure.

I have two first-time broodies hatching right now. Mutt eggs, I’m not invested. The hens are 7mos and I was surprised they went broody. They have accidentally smothered half of their hatched chicks. I feel bad that the chicks died, but these things happen. If they go broody again, I believe they’ll be much better. I’m at 10 living chicks, with about 7 eggs still left.
