Give 'em a haircut so they can see to stay out of the way. They are bright enough to get out of the way of danger they can see, I hope.sooooo I am not too sure I am thrilled to have silkies again. Not sure why I have silkies other than the kid wanted some, he wanted the naked neck ones show girls or whatever too. He didnt get any. I dont even think I can let them free range with the goats as they are sure to get stepped on by goats they are so blind. and the hawks will pick them off I would think
I am so picky I dont know what I want ever
No smart tv at the time. I actually held off on getting one for this reason, but then I figured anyone who suffers through listening in on our home life is only going to get what they deserve, ha!Do you have a smart tv internet connected?
I saw a story on the news this morning that it can track your behavior and share that information with advertisers and others.
I saw that on the Weather Channel this morning too.
I used to raise Jaerhons (only breed from Norway). They certainly were cold hardy but just as heat hardy. It was a pleasant surprise. They would molt in January. I guess that was their way of saying, "You call this cold?"
A rather small, productive, tight feathered bird and I would raise them again if I had the space.
When I once mentioned the vulnerability of silkies, another BYC member said they call them 'hawk bites'.
In the same weather report I saw a heat wave is coming your way. We're starting October in the 90s F.
My first batch of chicks from mcmurrays was called ornamental layers. In it we’re two EgyptianNo smart tv at the time. I actually held off on getting one for this reason, but then I figured anyone who suffers through listening in on our home life is only going to get what they deserve, ha!
I tried to get my hands on Jaerhons! They are pretty hard to find. Ideal has them, but I'm so wary of hatchery-bred breeds, I skipped them. May try this spring.
My silkie chicks didn't last a week once I moved them outside. To tell the truth, I was kind of relieved. When I got back into chickens after having a family of my own, I was excited to have the "fun" breeds. But I've realized the chickens of my roots--creatures that can survive years of free ranging and need no pampering--are more my style.
It looks like you are a big fan of Starbucks! How long will that last you?Westley, have some coffee with me!

Inevitably, if I've googled something to look at, or have bought something, I'm seeing add of the same things... everywhere. No doubt about it. They do.
They are so sweet. Trim the feathers around the eyes! They will still be fluffy and cute. Or, get some Silkies that don't have the fluff around their face. Your kids would love them as much. They can see sooo much better! You get the sweet little sounds of love when they come up to you. Oh...and have to add while here...Sally! That goats lotion!! Oh my.sooooo I am not too sure I am thrilled to have silkies again. Not sure why I have silkies other than the kid wanted some, he wanted the naked neck ones show girls or whatever too.
