EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Perhaps. We usually have some cold weather by now. It is getting into the 50s tonight for the second time since summer. Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be in the 90s. Very unusual. At least our summer was milder than usual.
Two more days 90’s here then 70’s

One time I went out to feed the chickens. I noticed I was running low on feed and made a mental note of it. I got on the computer when I got back in and all of my ads were for chicken feed. But, I had never used my internet connection to look up chicken feed, nor had I ever even said anything online about even having chickens at that point. There was no reason I should have been targeted with THOSE ads at THAT moment unless I was actually being visually watched. And I live in the middle of nowhere. So. I tell myself it was a really grand coincidence, but it bothers me to this day.

Shh, don't say that. I'm paranoid enough as it is.

sooooo I am not too sure I am thrilled to have silkies again. Not sure why I have silkies other than the kid wanted some, he wanted the naked neck ones show girls or whatever too. He didnt get any. I dont even think I can let them free range with the goats as they are sure to get stepped on by goats they are so blind. and the hawks will pick them off I would think

I am so picky I dont know what I want ever

Do you have a smart tv internet connected?
I saw a story on the news this morning that it can track your behavior and share that information with advertisers and others.
Oh, and we have a winter storm warning for this weekend. Supposed to get up to 6 inches in the valleys and 4 feet in the mountains. Time to test the heritage of my Icelandics!
I saw that on the Weather Channel this morning too.
I used to raise Jaerhons (only breed from Norway). They certainly were cold hardy but just as heat hardy. It was a pleasant surprise. They would molt in January. I guess that was their way of saying, "You call this cold?"
A rather small, productive, tight feathered bird and I would raise them again if I had the space.

When I once mentioned the vulnerability of silkies, another BYC member said they call them 'hawk bites'.:gig

In the same weather report I saw a heat wave is coming your way. We're starting October in the 90s F.
