EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

How are you folks doing with the virus up there? Your world turned upside down?
There has been little impact in my exact area, though I have heard of some changes such as food shortages elsewhere. As for the disruption to my "world", there has been incredibly little. I have plenty of animal food, so I have simply stopped all excess trips into town and am thoroughly enjoying being permitted to stay at home all week without having to make an excuse for such.

Pretty much the same for me. My feed can will hold just shy of #250 of pellets, and I bought an extra #100 that I left in the front seat of the truck when they started the "stay at home" deal, in case some clown tried to tell me feeding chickens wasn't necessary. Beyond that, I really don't have a pressing need to go anywhere much, other than getting gas for the mower & other equipment, like chain saws. I have enough to do around here to keep me busier than I want to be.

We haven't really peaked yet, though. We're in the largest county in the state, with lots of cropland, so we're not piled on one another like bees in a hive; not yet. The death toll, however, is close to 20, so we can't let our guard down.

I had to go into Lowe's the other day for some roof panels to repair the coop where the wind tore it up, but I'd pre-ordered them & didn't have to go into the building at all.

I believe I purchased about #500 of feed and as many hay bales as could be crammed into my car, though I somehow forgot to purchase chick feed, so I will have to make a trip out to get that as soon as I start hatching chickens.
