It was 104+ the last day I was there in August of '65
My brother got married in the Tyler Rose garden in May, don't remember the year. Although the ceremony was in the morning, it was just too hot. Then I went to Dallas a few times for work, always in July or August, it was just too hot to be outside.
Yum.I forgot to post this..... Sally, here's my favourite banana bread recipe. I got it from a friend a while back.
Banana Bread
2c flour
2/3c brown sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2-3 tsp cinnamon- I just shake a bunch in
2 mashed bananas
1/3c melted butter
2 Tbsp milk
2 eggs
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Then add the banana, butter, milk, and eggs. Stir completely, and put in a loaf pan. Bake @ 350 for 55-60 min.
