Y'all grab a seat & hold on tight. Still can't upload through the USB, but discovered I can go direct from the SD card. Don't ask why, 'cause I ain't got no idea :idunno In the beginning... . . Most of the studs up. The door openings were later reversed First of 9 trusses in place. Them things ain't light! 4 trusses to go Trusses done, scaffolds set up, & roof sheathing in place Siding finally started Siding almost done, roof done, finally...now it can snow all it wants Still need to make 3 doors, a set of steps, a ramp, & install soffet. At least I can work from inside, out of the weather .
Looks awesome!

What holds the head gate closed? Loop the chain around the opposing upright & clip it back to the eye bolt?

How'd you rig the pivot point? Dowels?

He drilled a hole and we put a rope through it. We tied it shut. We're experimenting with the best way to lock it shut. We are still experimenting to find the best way for us to do things. He used a 3/8th bolt, by 4 inch long to create the one that moved, he said "it's not high tech" LOL when I asked my husband the specifics.

I know I'm not dax, but we seemed to have used a similar model

we are on a well, our electric bill is about 400 a month with the water we use and AC, with out using misters. We cannot afford to run misters on our well, it keeps the electric pump on non-stop.
I haven't seen your setup, but I can tell you what works for me.
You've seen those "portable garages" that look like hoop coops and are made out of large tarps? I had one once, 'til the wind tore it up. Fortunately, I salvaged what I could of the tarp. It's silver one one side; great reflector. My run's only 4' W x '14' L, so the tarp covers all but about 3' of the top, with welded wire fencing underneath for support & drainage. The fabric covers about half of the 6' sides, and some less of the end. panel. The tarp's kept snug with strategically placed rubber cargo straps anchored in the chain link sides. The silver reflects the heat, provides shade, & turns the rain & snow, unless it's blowing hard out of the northwest, The whole thing's located under a very large Maple tree, which helps. The whole setup's worked well for me for better than 2 years w/o a problem, except for some rain & snow collecting in low spots in the overhead tarp. A wood fence post longer than the sides are tall pretty much eliminates that problem, though I still have to get underneath with a hoe & help some collected water run off.

We, as a rule, don't get quite the heat you get in south TX, but 100*+ with the heat index is not uncommon. It's the high humidity that makes it bad here.
