Membrane was dry. I wet it down.

That's all it needed!

Umbilical is a little raw looking, and poop stuck to its butt. I'm going to add good and water while it waits on right egg. No veins!

This was 71+ hours internally pipped. I only messed with them every 10-12 hours.

Silver is she walking on her hocks I guess? I would give her some time keep her taped up together, tape curled toes and give electrolytes and vits. I have not had luck with these, I always cull, but I sell chicks so its best in my situation. Good Luck with her

you know there is a sorta trampoline set up someone made with a egg carton
let me see if I can find it

. And what makes it worse is that I have basketball starting next week. My favorite sport of all time. And I might not be able to play. If I put my hand up and straiten out my fingers, they all go strait except my ring finger, which bends creepily low at the first knuckle....

got it taped and it's moving a bit better, not sure if it's a him or her, roo/hen, if it don't recover I'll keep it seperate from the rest, it's one to the 2 from this hatch 6 still in the bator, it's a mix of RIR and BR shells are tuff, had Mama Freaking out when I went to tape it up though she was holding it when I took the head and put my shears close to it's neck

Sounds like she just didn't feel good. How old was she? Are you getting a necropsy?
If so, here's 2 labs for you.
.
On the canoe, did you use the website I gave you to ascertain a value?
.
No necropsy. Frankly, I'm not even supposed to have chickens w/o a permit, so I don't call attention to the fact that I do. This placed is zoned Agricultural, that's not the issue. It's just another way for the gov't, county or otherwise, to get into our pockets. Other than the original 7 I bought from Southern States, and the new rooster I brought in 8+ months ago from Jess, and quarantined for a month, mine is a closed flock. I don't sell chicks, and any cockerels that leave here are most likely headed for the table. My coops can't be seen from the road up front, and there are no roads at all beside or behind me. Since the trees have grown taller over the years, the only clue that there's even a house back here is the lane and mailbox 600+ feet away. On top of all that, the guy who owns the place next to me has more chickens than I do, right along the road, and I doubt he has a permit, either.

Yeah, I went to that web site. I don't remember what the outcome was now, as far as determining a value; seems to me I needed a serial #, which I didn't have at the time. I later, after I was told where to look, found the number in two places, but they don't match. I did place a free ad for the canoe, either on that site or another like it. To date, I've had 3 responses. The 1st guy didn't really want to come this far w/o seeing pictures, which I couldn't provide at the time, so he faded away into the sunset. I've received 2 responses in the last day, sent pictures to both guys, and one of them said he be here tomorrow afternoon. We'll see.

I'll send you some pictures in a minute, so you can get an idea of what I've got. For some unknown reason, the line with all the goodies isn't displaying in this reply, & I ain't about to retype it all.

Sally, she was stuck for nearly 20 hours... I made what I can only describe as a "chickie jump-up" for her and have had her in it for most of the afternoon. After about an hour in it, she already seemed to be able to stay upright a bit better. I tried taking her out and putting her in a playpen like the article said, but she would just lay on her back with her feet propped up. I can't leave her in the jump up when I am not here, so I will put her back in the playpen for the night. She did eat a bit and I have given her a little water. I'll make sure to give her more water before I leave tonight. I would take her home, but my kids have dog training after work, so I'm not going home, and I don't think I can take her to the club with me... Too many dogs that would try to eat her!!

I did cut a hole for her too poop out of after this picture was taken...

This was her after an hour of being in her little sling. It didn't last long and she was back to falling over.

Her sisters cuddling with her...
