It has channels for the water and a humidity sensor that you can set to go off at whatever % you want it to go off at. The only options for controlling humidity are to run dry, run with one or more channels filled, or add a sponge, cup, whatever. It's not like my RCOM where you "set" the humidity and just keep filling the reservoir. Does that make sense?

Yes that does make sense! What % should I aim for with this thing? Its sitting at 49% right now and I set the alarm for 40%. is 40% still too much?

I have mine set to go off at 20%, but doesn't matter now, 'cause the sensor is busted.:(

oh no!!!! that stinks :/

thank you for all your help. I may just lower the alarm to that myself and not add any water to it and see how it does. Need those air cells to shrink up quick! Lockdown is in 4.5 days.

Okay thanks so much for the info, the last one died a few weeks ago and none of the others had symptoms at the time.
As for this one that's still alive...have any thoughts?

I'm sorry but there are just too many things that can cause those symptoms for me to hazard a guess. Some bacterial, some viral, some fungal, some environmental, etc..
For those reasons I don't recommend any medication if one doesn't know exactly what the problem is.

I know a lot of you aren't fond of the USPS but I love them, compared to FedEx.

I got a prepaid express label to send a bird for lab work to our vet school on Friday. The school doesn't pick up on weekends so they suggested I keep it refrigerated and send it on Monday so it would get there Tuesday. The vet school is only 120 miles from here. I just checked tracking and the package sat here till Tuesday night and didn't get there till 9AM this morning. I packed it in Styrofoam with an ice pack but was a little sloppy with packing since I thought it would only be in the box overnight instead of 40 hours. I thought it would be easier than driving the bird there but I was wrong.

@chickenmama22 , three sensors, three different readings. The RCOM is way off, actual is somewhere between the other two.

wow! Thank you for sharing! That's the incubator I have too! That might be my problem! I have another humidity monitor being delivered tomorrow so I'm anxious to see what it says!

FYI, that was running without water. -Kathy
