EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

@shahtir101
We hatched four serama friday I think it was, she got her first ever all blue/silver chick!

Say hello to HATTER!

@mlm Mike
answer to the chipmunk chicks!

I have two related bcm typically I would not have hatched their eggs because of the relation, however she has this lovely spotted brown egg I wanted another layer for the layer coop. I set eggs and hatched out chicks and two were chipmunked!!! how can two bcm send out a chipmunk!!! I have no other roosters! So I thought maybe a brahma roo got her before I sold them off, so I set one more time, and again a chipmunk chick! I sent eggs to Mike and he hatched FOUR chipmunks!!! I set and hatched this week and Got yet another chipmunk!!! meanwhile the oldest chicks are growing out.

after speaking on the phone for an hour with a genetics dude about bcm and pheasants he tells me that they carried the gene from it being introduced at some point, and since they both carried this gene they got double copies and produced dun dun dun Partridge Marans...

These two chicks came from parents below LOL

I love her spotted eggs for my eggbasket

did I mention I never heard of partridge marans?

This is a banner day.
It's not every day you can take a vehicle into a dealership for service & have it finished before the time they estimated it would be.
Maybe someone told them I was anxious to get back on here.

I had to take the truck ( '05 Dodge Dakota ) in for a safety recall; driver's side air bag could activate without warning...no collision needed. It was comforting that Chrysler waited 11 years to notify owners :idunno
As I was checking out, the service guy told me I'd be receiving another recall notice for the passenger's air bag, as soon as the parts are available :/
Strange that the parts for one side are available & the others aren't.

People should always check online to see if they're vehicles have any recalls. Never got a notice for our '01 Suburban we drive. Started kicking in the antlocks on dry pavement occasionally, pretty scary pulling up behind someone and it just goes rrrrr and don't slow down. It would trip the antilock out if I pushed real hard on the brake, it reset after shutting the truck off. Only did it a few times so didn't do anything about it until...
Real late for work taking a back road, nasty snow storm so had it in 4wd (usually don't bother so heavy gets good traction) thought to late to slow down for a down hill turn, rrrrr no brakes!! I pushed down for all I could hoping it would trip, just as I hit the ditch on the other side of the road with a steep bank thought quick and stomped on the gas! Pulled me out but now even but now going even faster down the hill and right by a farm I usually go slow by, rrrrr nothing. When I got to the bottom and finally stopped I pulled the abs fuse. Keep forgetting and still haven't bothered to get it fixed on the recall, only remember it when it's icy and I wish I had abs. I don't drive it very often anyway, DW's vehicle :-D
